A storied luxury house moves to new heights

Winery, Terrazas de los Andes

1898 - Sotero Arizu, one of the forefathers of Argentine winemaking, builds an old Spanish style winery in the heart of Perdriel, facing the impressive Cordon del Plata. This building will be restored by Terrazas to become the estate’s winery.

1952 - Renaud Poirier, Chief Winemaker at Moët & Chandon, went to Argentina to research the region’s potential for world-class wine production. He met his match in Mendoza, at the foot of the Andes.

1959 - Bodegas Chandon settled in Mendoza.

1999 - Creation of Terrazas de los Andes and creation of Cheval des Andes (joint-venture with Cheval Blanc).

2001 - Release of the first vintage of Cheval des Andes.

2009 - 50 years of presence in Argentina.
